Retrofit : the future of responsible yachting

The Yacht Club de Monaco has already raised awareness of the yachting industry in February 2022 at the Economic Symposium.

Speakers at the Superyacht Investor show in London confirmed that:

  • Retrofit is the future of yachting

The Jutheau Husson Yachting team was present at the latest edition of the Superyacht Investor. This was an opportunity to follow the news of the sector and the recommendations of the industry leaders.

Yachts considered as polluters are a major topic of current interest.

5,630 diesel-powered yachts over 30 metres in length will still be in operation in 30, 50 or even 100 years' time. Subject to regulated carbon emission controls (IMO 2020), they will have to convert their fuel source.

Retrofit operations will become common practice.

In La Ciotat, Axel Cantero opened the doors of the MB92 Superyacht shipyard to the Jutheau Husson Yachting team for a tour of the refit of internal combustion engine yachts into sustainable ones.

MB92 Superyacht Refit is based in Barcelona and La Ciotat and boasts state-of-the-art ship repair facilities and technology.

Their yards have all the necessary infrastructure for refit and retrofit operations. This allows them to offer the world's fleet of Superyachts the best services.

Committed to the Monaco Capital of Advanced Yachting, our mission is also to encourage synergies between the actors of sustainable yachting.

Jutheau Husson Yachting supports this type of project by offering discounts and adapted insurance conditions.
